PETALING JAYA – The Terengganu Rugby Association (PRNT) has introduced individual insurance coverage and a more transparent contract policy as part of efforts to strengthen team management and improve player welfare this season.
Team manager Mohd Haqiuddin Ali Rabu said the initiative was implemented following an evaluation of several issues previously faced involving player welfare.
He said the team previously used group insurance coverage, but local players will now receive individual insurance protection beginning this season.
“Although it currently only involves local players, it is still a positive improvement for the team,” he said.
According to him, imported players will remain under group insurance coverage due to several requirements set by the insurance provider, but all players will continue to receive appropriate protection benefits.
At the same time, the management has also adopted a more open approach regarding player contracts to avoid misunderstandings between players and the team.
He said players are given the opportunity to review and fully understand the terms of their contracts before signing any agreement.

Meanwhile, former national captain Mohammad Nasharudin Ismail described the move as a positive step towards creating a more professional environment within the squad.
