MARANG POLICE BRING COMMUNITY TOGETHER THIS RAMADAN

A total of 3,800 packets of bubur lambuk were distributed to motorists and residents across the Marang district as part of the Kasih Ramadan 2026 @ 1447H initiative, underscoring the programme’s expanded outreach this year.

MARANG – The Marang District Police Headquarters (IPD Marang) has once again stepped beyond its enforcement role to engage directly with the community, organising its second consecutive Ramadan porridge distribution drive under the Kasih Ramadan 2026 @ 1447H initiative.

This year, 3,800 packets of bubur lambuk were prepared and distributed free of charge to residents and road users throughout the district — double the amount recorded during last year’s programme.

Marang District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Sofian Redzuan, personally distributed packets of bubur lambuk to motorists passing in front of the Marang District Police Headquarters, taking time to greet road users as part of the Ramadan outreach initiative.

Marang District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Sofian Redzuan, said the encouraging turnout and warm reception from the public in 2025 prompted the district police to expand the scale of the initiative.

“The strong response from the community last year gave us the confidence to enhance the programme this time around. With the backing of our strategic partners, we were able to streamline the coordination and extend assistance to a larger group of beneficiaries,” he said at the distribution ceremony held at the IPD Marang compound.

The preparation of the porridge was undertaken by police personnel alongside representatives from partner organisations. A total of 12 large cauldrons were prepared through close teamwork, ensuring the entire process was completed according to schedule.

Police personnel joined by strategic partners of the Kasih Ramadan 2026 @ 1447H initiative worked side by side to distribute packets of bubur lambuk to motorists and residents throughout the Marang district, reflecting a coordinated community effort during the holy month.

Programme manager Alif Azizi Sulaiman of PSM Motors (M) Sdn Bhd said preparations commenced in the early hours of the morning, with volunteers working in unison to manage the increased volume efficiently.

“The scale of this year’s programme was significantly larger, requiring meticulous coordination. However, with thorough planning and strong cooperation from all involved, the porridge was ready for distribution to the public before noon,” he said.

The initiative was supported by the Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YAPEIM), Bank Rakyat Marang branch and Liberty Insurance, whose contributions played a key role in ensuring the programme’s continued success.

More than a charitable effort during the holy month, Kasih Ramadan reflects the district police’s ongoing commitment to nurturing closer ties with the community, reinforcing trust and cooperation in an atmosphere of harmony and shared responsibility.
